Who Are We - meet the team!
Brown Box Flowers is a very small family run business, set up by me (Nadia) and my husband David about four years ago. (We’re sometime assisted by the beautiful Soraya who is as good as family and has work with us on all manner of floral designs and installation for about 10 years!) Our primary business then was supplying wonderful couples with stunning, award winning flowers for weddings and events (see images below!) but we were approached so many times by friends and family of the couples after the weddings for every day floral design that we decided to launch an online flowers shop – Brown Box Flowers!

What do we do?
We began by offering a single size design in a custom brown box. But soon realised the potential for the business and increased the price range of the designs available, all in the signature house style!
It again soon became clear that we were filling a gap in the market and building a wonderfully loyal customer base who were really enjoying our style, eye for colour and use of locally grown seasonal produce when possible. So we again expanded our offer to include designs for funerals & events, and run workshops teaching folks a range of skills from wreathing, and simple arrangements to full on bridal designs. We even managed to offer virtual teaching last year when we realised our in person workshops for Christmas would no longer go ahead!
We will soon be offering our gift bouquets and sundries for National delivery – trials have gone well so far, so its only a matter of time!

Then in November 2019 we opened our first bricks and mortar shop in Hulland Ward, Ashbourne. It’s a gorgeous little shop, in a former saddlery (still own by the same family for well over 100 years) just off the beaten track. We now stock a lovely range of candles, plants and gifts, as well as beautiful coffee and locally made cake. We’re not gonna lie to you, it’s been pretty hard the last 18 months, we’ve been closed more than we’ve been open, but we so thrilled with the support from the local community, using our online store to send gifts to family and friends throughout the COVID 19 lockdowns!
Why do we do it?
Well that’s an easy one! We do it because we love it! And we really hope to see you in store or online soon!
